Asus TaiChi has dual display, runs Windows 8

Asus has officially confirmed pricing and availability for its TaiChi laptop which boasts dual 1080p IPS displays.



The 11-inch Windows 8 device starts at $1299 for an entry level model, which is is equipped with a Core i5-3317U processor, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. $1499 will get you a 256GB SSD, while $1,599 buys a 256GB drive and Core i7 processor.

Additional specs? Intel HD 4000 graphics, two USB 3.0 ports, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 720p (front) webcam, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and Intel's Wireless Display technology. It should be noted that a 13-inch iteration of the TaiChi will ship in December, while the 11-inch version remains on track to ship in November.



In addition to the TaiChi, Asus announced that its dockable VivoTab Windows RT will be available on October 26th at a starting price of $599 for the 32GB model, keyboard included. A 64GB version of the tablet paired with a docking station will run you a cool $699. 



Additional specs? 600-nit Super IPS+ display with 178-degree viewing angles, Gorilla Glass protection, a quad-core Tegra 3 chip, 2GB of RAM, NFC and an 8-megapixel rear camera with an auto-focusing f/2.2 lens. Meanwhile, the keyboard dock is equipped with a USB 2.0 port and integrated battery rated for seven hours.

In related mobile news, Asus also rolled out a new lineup of lightweight, touchscreen laptops dubbed VivoBook in 11-, 14- and 15-inch iterations. The 11.6-inch Q200 (aka the X202) starts at $499 with a Core i3 processor, while the 14-inch S400 kicks off at $599 and the 15-inch S500 will go for $649 and up - with Core i5 and i7 options.
