Sony Xperia X10 launches with 1GHz Snapdragon processor

Sony Ericsson has launched the latest iteration of its Xperia smartphone. The sleek, Android-powered device boasts a 4-inch display, a blazingly fast 1GHz Snapdragon processor and GPS capabilities.

The X10 also features a 8.1 megapixel camera with smile detection, face recognition, autofocus and LED flash.

"Mediascape on the Xperia X10 gathers music, photos, videos and content from your phone's memory card and online, letting you browse, search, listen and share your media from one unified view," explained senior Sony Ericsson VP Paul Hamnett.

“[And] Timescape is a communication app that automatically organizes social interactions in chronological order, leaving users free to concentrate on keeping in touch on-the-go. From Facebook and Twitter updates to photos, emails and text messages, a scrolling menu offers easy viewing and organization of all communications.”

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 smartphone will be available in black at AT&T
stores starting on August 15 for $150 - after a two-year minimum service agreement.
