XP and Android? Yes, please.

Acer has debuted a $380 netbook that arrives pre-loaded with both Android and Windows XP.

According to PC World, the Aspire One AOD255 runs Windows as the primary operating system, while offering Android as a quick-booting OS option via Acer’s configuration manager.

XP and Android? Yes, pleaseThe system is powered by an Intel Atom N450 microprocessor and features a 10.1-inch screen.

Additional specs include:

  • 1GB of DDR2 (double data rate, second-gen) DRAM.
  • 160GB hard disk drive (HDD).
  • 3-cell or 6-cell lithium-ion battery.

$380 for a netbook that dual-boots Android and Windows XP definitely sounds pretty sweet.

I don’t know about you, but I’d probably spend most of my time playing around in the Android-based environment.

Yes, XP is a stable operating system (if not somewhat dated) that is well suited for netbooks.

However, Android - which was specifically designed for mobile platforms - undoubtedly has less bloat and my vote.

What do you think?
