Nokia touts Intel's Atom-powered 3G netbook
Nokia has confirmed that it will begin shipping an Atom-powered 3G netbook in November. The "Booklet" weighs less than 2.76 pounds, measures slightly more than two centimeters thin and boasts a 12 hour battery life.
The netbook also offers a 10.1 inch display, embedded 3G/HSPA, Wi-Fi, HDMI, a webcam and Bluetooth. Other features include an SD card reader, integrated A-GPS, Windows 7 and Ovi Suite.
According to Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, the Booklet will be sold in all US Best Buy locations at an introductory price of $300. Unsurprisingly, the price tag is contingent upon the activation of a two-year AT&T Data Connect plan.
It should be noted that the device has yet to be authorized by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). However, Nokia has emphasized that it will obtain the FCC's appproval before officially launching the Booklet.
