The Nokia Lumia 1520 seems to be on track to debut on October 22 at a special Nokia event in Abu Dhabi. It's expected to go on sale in the US in the second week of November. It will be the first Windows "phablet" if rumors are right.
According to Nokia's own PR:
As we reported a couple of weeks ago, there’s a Nokia press event taking place on the 22nd October in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The press conference will start at 8am UK time (that’s 11am Abu Dhabi time). And the webcast from the event will be broadcast right here on Conversations, so that you can watch the action on your screen of choice!
This time around we also have an extra treat in the form of a second round of webcasts, after the main announcement.
These are additional interactive sessions that go into much more detail about… well, whatever is announced in the morning. These sessions have historically been reserved for the press, bloggers, partners and analysts who attend Nokia World, so we’re extremely pleased and excited to be able to offer them here on Conversations, for the first time.
The all-inclusive sessions will begin at 11am UK time and close at around 1pm.
No details but the usual rumor mill is churning or milling or whatever the metaphor is supposed to do. One of the products that is expected to be launched is the Windows Phone "phablet" called the Lumia 1520.
Thus the anticipated but unconfirmed main features of the Lumia 1520 are:
-Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM
-Either 32 or 64 GB flash memory
-6 inch diagonal AMOLED display
-Full HD resolution
-Front and back camera with the promise of a 20.7 megapixel back camera
-3400 mAH batter
-Black, white, and yellow color options
-International version will have integrated wireless charging capability which one of the unique features that Nokia offers on some models as an add-on
-185 grams in weight
-AT&T will offer it as $299 with contract, and $699 full price
