HTC Butterfly 2 is heading to Taiwan

HTC’s Butterfly 2 is set to drop in the Asian market after images of the new handset cropped up at the Taiwanese regulators office to fuel rumours that it’s set to be released imminently.

A filing from the NCC, Taiwan’s version of the US FCC, detailed the HTC Butterfly 2 with the model number B810x as well as a range of other details related to the smartphone’s connectivity capabilities, according to GSM Arena.

The latest information follows leaked images of the front panels of the new device that intimated the smartphone will be available in black, white and blue with further rumours pointing to brown, silver and red options.

Other rumoured elements of the specification are that it will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset with a Krait 400 CPU and a 5in 1080p display, all the rumours dispelling suggestions that HTC was ready to hang up the Butterfly’s wings.

HTC’s first Butterfly smartphone, which hit the UK shelves in January 2013 following an October 2012 release, had one of the world’s first full HD 1080p displays and was the firm’s top-of-the-pile phablet until the HTC One Max usurped it.

The Taiwan-based firm has had a busy year in the top end smartphone stakes so far with the HTC One M8 released just months ago and its impressive set of features saw it achieve a 4.5 stars out of 5 review on ITProPortal.com back in April.

It should be said that HTC has still yet to confirm anything about the Butterfly 2 and with no release date or price rumoured it will to be a while until customers lay hands on the device.
