Dell plans to transition all of its new notebook displays to light-emitting diode (LED) in the next 12 months, as it strives to become the 'greenest' technology company in the world. Effective December 15, 2008, two-thirds of Dell Latitude E-Family notebooks will be shipped with mercury-free LED backlighting as a standard feature.
