Lite-On IT delivered four million DVD-ROM drives used in Xbox 360 consoles in the second quarter of 2008 and the shipment volume for the third quarter is estimated to increase by 20-25% to 4.8-5.0 million units, according to component suppliers in Taiwan. Microsoft has lowered retail prices for 20GB Xbox 360 bundles and plans to offer 60 GB bundle in an attempt to promote sales over the summer, traditionally a peak sales period for game consoles.
