Tegra 4 game console ready to launch

Phone maker ZTE and game developer The9 are reportedly prepping a new Android-based game console for a launch in China later this month.

Known as the “Fun Box,” the console is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 4 processor (ARM Cortex-A15) and features 2GB of RAM, 8GB of storage dual-band WiFi and two USB ports.

The Fun Box is also expected to work with a wireless game controller and wireless air mouse remote that can be used to control media playback and gaming, of course.

As Liliputing’s Brad Linder notes, the Tegra 4 powering the Fun Box will make the device one of the most powerful Android-based game consoles on the market, along with M.O.J.O. by Mad Catz.

Unfortunately, it remains unclear if the Fun Box will be hitting US or European shores anytime soon, but TG Daily will keep you posted.
