Report: Acer prepping 3-in-1 device (Aspire Switch 10)

Acer is reportedly prepping a 3-in-1 device known as the Aspire Switch 10.

Basically, the Switch 10 is a laptop with a 10.1 inch display, (optional) keyboard dock and Windows 8.1.

According to Liliputing’s Brad Linder, users can pop out the tablet, turn it around so it’s facing away from the keyboard and attach it to the dock again, creating a de-facto presentation mode device.

”There are a growing number of multi-mode machines hitting the market. Lenovo’s Yoga line of devices offer laptop, tablet, and tent modes,” Linder explained.

“Toshiba showed off a 5-in-1 PC concept at CES in January. And now Acer appears to be working on a 3-in-1 device called the Acer Aspire Switch 10.”

Detailed specs, price tag and launch date have yet to go live, although we do know

the tablet boasts an aluminum case, while the keyboard dock is equipped with smart hinge and hooks, but no latch.

Various industry reports speculate the Switch 10 will feature Intel’s Bay Trail chip or faster (Intel) CPU.
