Android FEEL TV Box is port friendly
Chinese device maker Shenzhen Lanhai is poised to roll out a new Android-powered set-top-box powered by an AMlogic 8726 ARM Cortex-A9 processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of storage.
The FEEL TV Box - which is housed in a case reminiscent of a DVR - also features a number of ports, including 3 full-sized USB ports, an SD card slot, HDMI and Ethernet jacks, analog and composite audio and video ports, along with an optical port.
Additional specs? Integrated WiFi, HDMI cable, and wireless mouse.
The Oval Elephant set-top box sells for $84.99 and allows you to run Android apps on your TV in addition to streaming content. The device supports apps such as YouTube and Netflix specifically, and of course you can surf the web right on your TV. The box also supports the early release of XBMC Media Center originally developed for the Pivos XIOS .
Speaking of hardware, the Android TV Box is loaded with a 1 GHz Amlogic AM8726-M3 ARM Cortex-A9 processor under the hood. The set-top box also features integrated Wi-Fi supporting 802.11b/g/n, along with 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of storage. Additional connectivity options include a power input, Ethernet port, dual USB ports, HDMI output, AV port, a reset button and an optical audio output.
Meanwhile, the $109 Android-powered AMP1000 can be used to load apps, play games, listen to music, view photos, read digital books and stream TV shows or movies at 1080p.
The AMP1000 supports Internet browsing with Fash - boasting integrated Wi-Fi connectivity and easy (HDMI) compatibility with both monitors and TVs. The device - which run Android 2.3 (upgradeable) - ships with a three-in-one remote control that acts as a keyboard, mouse, or motion controller.
And last, but certainly not least, the Allwinner A10 processor-powered MiniX runs Android (out of the box) and plugs directly in to your TV - allowing apps to run directly on the big-screen. Oh, and you can also run Linux, something your smartphone can't do (yet).
The little box will set you back about $99 and is available now with a one-year warranty. Other than the above-mentioned processor, Mini X is equipped with 512 MB RAM, 4 GB integrated storage, a microSD card slot for storage expansion, dual USB ports, integrated Wi-Fi, and an HDMI output. The box also supports an external antenna and a wireless remote control with Android specific buttons for apps, including home, menu, app drawer, search and back buttons.
