Logitech goes HD with new webcam lineup

Logitech has debuted a new line of HD webcams that offer 720p for video calls over Skype, Yahoo, Windows Live Messenger and Gmail Voice/Video Chat.

According to Logitech VP Eric Kintz, the flagship $100 HD Pro C910 webcam (available in August) records "crystal-clear" stereo audio with two mics, while allowing users to film video in "full" HD 1080p and snap pictures with a 10-megapixel camera.

Logitech goes HD with new webcam lineupKintz added that every new Logitech HD webcam is equipped with the company's Fluid Crystal technology, which facilitates the rendering of clear images with smooth, fluid motion and rich, true-to-life colors.

Other new webcams (available in June) include:

  • C510 — $60. For portable HD video calling and recording. Can be folded and fits in a pocket. 720p video calling, 1080p video recording.
  • C310 - $50. Takes crisp, clear 5-megapixel pictures. 720p video calling, 1080p video recording.
  • C270 - $40. 3-megapixel photos. 720p video calling, 1080p video recording.

It should be noted that all the above-mentioned webcams support one-click upload to a number of social networking/video sites, including Facebook and YouTube.
