Google 'developing netbook' rumors

Google is rumored to be developing a netbook or tablet of its own.

Google 'developing netbook'IB Times says it's heard that the machine will be based on an ARM CPU and Nvidia Tegra chipset and will come with a 10.1-inch TFT, HD-ready multi-touch display. There's apparently 2GB of RAM, and built-in Wifi, 3G, and Bluetooth.

Running the Chrome OS - naturally - it will also come with preinstalled Google apps such as Google Map, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar and Google Search by Voice.

Apparently the company is so keen to get the machine out there that it plans to subsidise it heavily - giving a sub-$300 price tag, if reports are to be believed.

IB Times reckons the netbook is expected to hit the market late next year - although that seems rather a long way off if the product's specs really are as well-established as all that.
