Logic Instruments intros world's most rugged UMPC

The shock-resistant, military-grade, extreme-temperature-functional FieldBook from Logic Instruments is the self-proclaimed most rugged mobile PC in the world.

The FieldBook is a customizable PC available on Logic Instrument's Web site that has a variety of features that people in rugged situations might need:

- Readable in sunlight
- Withstand temperatures from -4F to 131F
- Shock, drop, and vibration resistant
- Rugged and ergonomic design
- Only 2.8 pounds
- Salt Fog compliant
- Can survive a 4-foot drop
- G-Sensor protection

This ultra mobile PC (UMPC) also comes with a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor, a/b/g/n WLAN built-in, Bluetooth connectivity, integrated GPS, and a 2-megapixel Web cam.

It's largely marketed to enterprise customers who could use the device to collect barcode and RFID information on the go, receive orders via Wi-Fi, and track/submit current location.
