Dolby is bringing its sound enhancements to more laptops from major manufacturers. It calls this venture the latest version of its PC Entertainment Experience.
The company announced its PC Entertainment Experience will turn up in notebook PCs from the likes of Acer, Lenovo, Toshiba and MSI.
These laptops will bundle in Dolby's Home Theater and/or Sound Room offerings, reportedly offering sound performance more in line with consumer electronics devices.
Doly Home Theater will target laptops outputting sound to between two and eight speakers or any set of headphones, while Sound Room goes after a pair of speakers or headphones.
The Home Theater will offer more options, including sound stage enhancement, bass enhancement, headphone surround sound, Pro Logic Iix and conversion of any PC audio signal into Dolby Digital. Sound Room, by contrast, only offers sound stage/bass enhancement and headphone surround sound.
