Seagate to begin shipments of first notebook PC hybrid drive in October

  • Seagate Technology will begin to ship its Momentus 5400 PSD, its first hybrid hard disk (HHD) for use in notebook PCs, in October 2007, according to the company's Taiwan/Korea executive director Brian Wickman. The Momentus 5400 PSD will have a 5400-rpm spindle speed, 256 MB built-in flash memory and will be compatible with notebooks with a 2.5" drive bay.
