Intel unveils X38 chipset

  • Intel’s latest enthusiast chipset X38 has been making the rounds in the press for several months. Now the chipset has been officially introduced by the manufactured and is positioned above the still available 975X, 955X, 925Xe and 925X.

    The new chipset supports up to 8 GB DDR3 (1333) memory, FSB800, 1066 and 1333, as well as dual PCIe 2.0. The updated MCH also integrates support for Intel’s upcoming 45 nm Penryn processors.
