Dell and Goodwill offer free computer recycling in New Jersey, Philadelphia

  • Dell and Goodwill today said they will be providing 23 drop-off locations for unwanted computers in New Jersey and Philadelphia. The companies hope that the program will divert more than four million pounds of used computers and computer equipment from area landfills over the next year and teach consumers about “environmentally responsible computer disposal.”

The drop-off is free for consumers.

The two companies said they are planning to expand the program to 15 counties surrounding Austin, TX; San Francisco (San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin counties); San Antonio (23 counties in Central and South Texas), North Carolina (49 counties), San Diego County, Pittsburgh and throughout the state of Michigan.

Similar, government sponsored recycling programs have been implemented by counties across the U.S.
