Intel to offer mid- and high-end processors for 2-way ECPD blade servers

  • Intel plans to offer quad-core server processors (Clovertown) for its embedded and communication processor division (ECPD) blade servers in the first half of this year. With Xeon 5100 series processors currently used in the market and 45nm processors (Harpertown and Wolfdale-DP) to launch in 2008, Intel will offer mid-range and high-end server processor lines for its 2-way ECPD blade servers, according to sources familiar with Intel's plan.
