According to analysts, an oversupply of flat-panel monitors caused by significant growth in manufacturing capacity, could result in much lower prices before the end of the year. Flat-panel monitors using liquid crystal display will hit the $600 mark, according to analysts, down from an average $950 only three months ago. The reduction in monitor prices will also be reflected in cheaper notebooks. Conventional CRTs average less than $200 and, despite consumer preference for smaller monitors, account for 94.5 percent of retail monitor sales.
