From Deadpool to Soda Disaster

Deadpool is currently in production with Ryan Reynolds in the lead, and many comic fans have been dying for this one for a long time. And now the writers behind the Deadpool movie are going to make a film about one of the biggest commercial disasters in soda history, New Coke.

New Coke just hit its anniversary, and who knows why it’s been remarked upon at all. Like the Edsel, it was a complete disaster that just didn’t work, because the formula for Coca Cola has always been one of the greatest innovations of the 20th century.

Now Deadline tells us that Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who also gave us Zombieland, will be making a film about New Coke, and with them doing the script, this project definitely has potential.

In the meantime, for those who are dying to see Deadpool, which should be far more successful than New Coke if all goes well, it’s currently slated for a February 12, 2016 release.
