Black Sabbath Apparently to Call It a Day Next Year

We hear all the time about bands doing their final tours. The Rolling Stones and The Who went on their alleged last jaunts back in the ‘80’s, then did plenty more concerts up to today. Sinatra retired back in the early seventies, but was quickly back in action. And we seriously doubt Motley Crue are going to stop performing, just like you can’t believe the band is quitting while they’re “on top.”

Now, hot on the heels of the news that a revival of The Osbournes series has fallen apart, Blabbermouth.net is reporting that Sabbath will do one more tour next year, then finally break up for good.

Now of course, Ozzy said in a press conference that things “could change. We all live in different countries and some of them want to work and some of them don’t want to, I believe. But we are going to do another tour together.”

It makes sense that Sabbath would soon be calling it a day. They’re all pushing seventy, and it still remains to be seen if rock guys can keep going well into their seventh decades, let alone their eighth. As far as guitarist Tony Iommi’s health, he’s been fighting lymphoma, Ozzy said, “He’s doing great now. I text him now and again. He sounds fine.”
