Chris Pine Officially In For Wonder Woman

Many feel that Chris Pine has what it takes to become a major movie star, and while it hasn’t happened yet, it certainly isn’t from lack of big roles or lack dashing good looks. Now the guy could have a real shot as a romantic leading man playing opposite of Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman.

It had been rumored for some time that Chris would be playing opposite Gadot in her solo Wonder Woman movie, which will follow our favorite whipping boy, Batman Vs Superman, and the Wrap reminds us that the solo Wonder Woman flick will be in theaters on June 23, 2017.

Now The Wrap confirms that Pine will play Steve Trevor, and he signed a multi-picture deal that includes options for sequels.

It’s taken a long time for a Wonder Woman movie to make the big screen, and you may recall a long time ago that Joss Whedon was up to helm it at one point. Now there’s a female director who will bring Wonder Woman to life, Patty Jenkins (Monster), and we’d prefer to see Wonder Woman in her own film than B V F or Justice League.

We hope this will indeed help launch Chris Pine to major leading man status, not to mention Gadot has been getting a lot of notice these days as a major league babe as well, and we’re definitely looking forward to seeing her bring the famous superheroine amazon to life.
