Goosebumps is Headed to the Big Screen

A Goosebumps movie has been in the works for a long time, and having forgotten about it, we at TG were pleasantly surprised to see the trailer for the movie, which looks like a lot of fun.

Uproxx said it looked a bit like Jumanji with gnomes, and there is indeed a scene where a group of garden gnomes come to life and charge through the house, but obviously this movie will unleash way more mayhem than this, in fact, the original Goosebumps manuscripts unleash all kinds of monster fun.

Jack Black is playing Goosebumps author R.L. Stine, and Black worked with Bumps director Rob Letterman previously on Gulliver’s Travels. (Letterman is also the director Shark Tale and Monsters Vs Aliens.) In addition, the script for a long awaited Goosebumps movie was written by Larry Karaszewski and Scott Alexander (Ed Wood, 1408)

Goosebumps hits theaters October 16.
