Andy Serkis is Indeed in Star Wars The Force Awakens

Considering the guy is the king of motion capture, you could probably say that Andy Serkis is in the next Star Wars film, and who would really know? But apparently he is indeed in The Force Awakens, and here’s a little bit about his role.

Well, not that much, but we do have a character name, Supreme Leader Snoke. As Starwars.com tells us, Serkis was photographed by legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair, and Serkis is not the only motion-capture actor in the film. Lupita Nyong’o, who became a major star from 12 Years a Slave, is also playing a character named Maz Kanata.

While the average issue of Vanity Fair doesn’t haven enough space for everything, it’s remarkable they didn’t include this picture, but here is Serkis, probably in character, and we’ll just have to wait to see how CGI will fill in his character later.

While we’re sure every true geek knows this date by heart, if you’re not a major geek, mark your calendar for December 18 of this year, when Star Wars The Force Awakens opens everywhere.
