Star Wars Goes HD

It’s hard to believe that Star Wars isn’t in Hi-Def, but apparently we didn’t get the memo on this, and now it’s apparently going into action, because of course we’ve got The Force Awakens is coming in December, and you know the original Star Wars movies are going to continue to be rehashed for generations to come.

So now Rolling Stone tells us that the Star Wars series will be available through iTunes and Amazon along with new stuff, mainly new making of documentaries. In addition to iTunes and Amazon, you’ll be able to get the Star Wars series on Google Play and Vudu, and you can watch Star Wars on all these platforms starting on April 10.

There will also be other documentaries you can download like George Lucas on Editing the Empire Strikes Back 1979, and From Puppets to Pixels: Digital Characters in Episode II.

So we all know that Star Wars will be rehashed and reissued for many, many years to come, and we all know we’ll one day be watching the next three Star Wars films on digital platforms as well, which will give Disney even more of an excuse to redo the original six all over again in whatever the latest new tech format is by then.
