New York (NY) - Verizon's FiOS TV (Fiber Optics television) service has struck a deal with Turner Networks and Sony, and will now be providing additional on-demand content to their regular lineup.

From Turner Networks, eight Turner channels with on-demand content will be added including: Adult Swim, Boomerang, Cartoon Network, CNN, TBS, TNT, TruTV and Turner Classic Movies, with "dozens of free movies a month from TBS, TNT and TCM; family-friendly entertainment from Boomerang and Cartoon Network; comedy on Adult Swim; and news and real-life drama from CNN and TruTV."

For starters, Turner will be offering the following movies for free: Anaconda, The Da Vinci Code, Final Destination 3, The Firm, A Knight's Tale, Roman Holiday and Striking Distance.

Sony's agreement now allows more recent films in HD, including HD versions of Anaconda 3: Offspring, Hancock and Pineapple Express.

The FiOS TV HD VOD service is available in 14 states and 9.2 million homes and supports over 14,000 titles. It does not require additional equipment other than a TV, the FiOS tuner and the service from Verizon.
