New Transformers video games coming for several platforms
Chicago (IL) - It seems that with every major action franchise movie of late a new video game must accompany the latest sequel. Such is the case with the upcoming Activision title Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which does not yet have pricing or a release date, will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC gaming platforms. For these particular versions, said Activision, players will be able to become an Autobot or Decepticon: "Select any available mission and pick from the largest, most diverse range of playable Transformers - each with their own distinct abilities and weaponry."
"Set in unique environments across the globe such as Cairo and Shanghai," added Activision, "the game allows players to instantly switch between vehicle and robot modes as they drive, fly, fight and blast their way through intense, pressure-packed levels. After engaging in single player action, players for the first time ever will be able to go online and battle friends in all-new multiplayer modes."
Other platforms will see different Transformers titles around the same time. Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 2 versions will be delivered as a third-person action adventure game that combines robot combat with arcade-style vehicle sequences and flight-based levels. A Nintendo DS version, meanwhile, will let players take on Autobot or Decepticon specific campaigns, while a planned Sony PlayStation offering is be styled as a "unique, fast-paced action arcade title."
Various developing studios are working with Activision to bring these different platform versions to completion.
