Logitech premieres force feedback wheel for Wii
Chicago (IL) - Wii owners holding out for a dedicated force feedback racing wheel will be happy to note that Logitech is debuting one this November here and in Europe. It is called the Logitech Speed Force Wireless and will cost about $100.
The Logitech Speed Force Wireless builds upon the 19 previous models of force feedback wheels Logitech has designed since 1998. It is promised to work with Electronic Arts’ Need for Speed Undercover as well as future force feedback titles on the Wii.
The Logitech wheel features a one-piece design, hosting built-in gas and brake controls. The lap rest is also expandable so one can play without need for a desk.
The wireless functionality is done via Logitech’s 2.4 GHz wireless technology and allows for use up to 30 feet away. A USB receiver, stored in a compartment on the bottom of the wheel when not in use, is plugged into the Wii to establish the wireless connection.
