Updated PSPs improve Sony’s traction in Japan

  • Sony claims that it has sold more than 1 million Play Station Portable (PSP) consoles in Japan since the launch of the updated platform on September 20. The sales pace is two weeks ahead of the original PSP, which was introduced in December 2004.  

    The company believes that the optional “1 Seg” TV viewing extension has become a “driver in attracting more and a broader range of users” for the PSP.
