Sony pumps out 2.01 PS3 firmware
Foster City (CA) - Sony released the latest Playstation 3 firmware late last night, fixing a handful of bugs that arose from the major 2.0 update earlier this month.
A couple glitches became notorious over the past week. After the last update, the information board would frequently cause the system to freeze during loading. Also, a new feature for Remote Play with the PSP designed to conserve PS3 power actually caused the PS3 to unintentionally turn on.
The 2.01 firmware update fixes both of these, in addition to adding more stability to PS3 games. It also patches some cosmetic bugs in the upscaling feature for playback of PS2 games.
The update is available now directly from the PS3 as well as at Sony.com.
