Ratchet & Clank PS3 gets pushed up a week

  • Culver City (CA) - In a rare occurrence in the video game world, Sony has announced stores will begin selling the new Ratchet & Clank game a week ahead of the scheduled release date.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction received a final release date of October 30, but according to Sony Computer Entertainment producer Greg Phillips, "due to some unexpected quickness at the factory, a vast majority of retailers have already received the game."

In the official Playstation Blog, Phillips says some of these retailers "are choosing to release the game next week ... which we are all to happy to allow."

The game is one of the first Playstation exclusive franchises to make the jump from PS2 to PS3, making it a highly anticipated title for the holiday season.

The retail price for the game is set at around $60, and although the release date will remain as October 30 in Sony's official records, it should not be too difficult to find a store that will have it sitting on the shelf next week.
