Wii update enhances Internet, adds USB keyboard support
Redmond (WA) - Nintendo has launched a new firmware update for the Wii, adding amonth aother things support for USB keyboard input.
The update finally allows users to use any USB keyboard to enter text in the Wii's Internet browser. A few other adjustments have been made to the console's Web surfing functionality.
Users can now send links to other Wii users, and a "copy/paste" feature has been added so users can copy a line of text and then paste it in a search box or the URL field.
This week's update also included a new version of the Everybody Votes Channel but so far it is unclear exactly what was changed.
Unlike the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, the Wii does not force firmware updates. Users can download the upgrade by going to Wii system settings and choosing the option "update console".
