Bellevue (WA) - Valve announced today that the long-awaited The Orange Box is now available on the content delivery platform Steam.

The Orange Box includes a total of five games, three of which are new adventures for Valve's cult-like fan following.  Half-Life 2: Episode 2 is easily the motivator of excitement for the new software bundle, picking up where Half-Life 2: Episode 1 left off 16 months ago.

Also included is Team Fortress 2, a multiplayer team-based warfare simulation game.  Rounding out the list of notable titles in The Orange Box is Portal, which Valve describes as a blend of puzzle-solving, action, and adventure.

Additionally, the "Box" packages in Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One, allowing players to be introduced into the series or re-live old memories of the games that have evolved into a PC gaming staple.

Consumers can download The Orange Box from Steam beginning today.  A retail version of the PC pack is also on its way to stores.  It carries an MSRP of around $50.  And Xbox 360 version is also slated for around $60.
