Los Angeles (CA) - When gamers first saw the Wii Remote in action two years ago, it was almost universally referred to as a light saber-esque controller. That metaphor will soon become a reality. At a summit in Los Angeles to discuss the relationship between movies and games, LucasArts president Jim Ward said, "Internally we have already played a lightsaber game on the Wii. It’s a lot of fun, and we’ll get there."
Answering a question about a Wii light saber game, Ward continued to say, "We’re all over that. There’ll be some stuff out this Fall - it’s going to be a lot of fun."
Already scheduled for release in November is Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, a multi-platform title that will include the Wii. A company-released fact sheet says the Wii version will include "motion-sensitive inputs give you exciting new ways to control your LEGO Star Wars characters."
Ward's comments imply that there will be additional Star Wars games for the Wii, though, and it's possible there could be an exclusive heading to the Nintendo platform. Much is left to speculation, and hopefully some questions will be answered at next month's E3 event.
