PSP firmware gets updated to version 3.5

  • Foster City (CA) - Sony has released the latest update for the PSP, officially making Wi-Fi PS3 remote play available.

The biggest change with the new update concerns connectivity with the Playstation 3.  Previously, users were able to access media stored locally on a PS3 via their PSP.  This includes watching videos, listening to music, viewing pictures, and viewing their PS3 friends list.  However, it was only available through a local wireless connection in the same room.

The new PSP update enhances this to make the same feature available through Wi-Fi.

The only other addition with version 3.5 is an RSS channel guide, to allow PSP owners better access to news feeds.
