Apple bans MySpace from stores
New York (NY) - Apple has banned MySpace, the popular social networking site, from its retail stores. Apparently customers have been taking advantage of the free bandwidth and computers to log into their profile pages and post up text, pictures and even video.
According to Cnet.com’s Crave blog, the stores are fed up with customers who have been loitering around for hours. Many Apple computers have integrated microphones and webcams which are quite attractive to today’s generation of bloggers and MySpace addicts. Apple’s retail store on Fifth Avenue in New York is open 24 hours and was one of the first stores to ban the website.
So far only MySpace has been banned from the store’s Safari browsers. An estimated 2 million people visit Apple stores every week.
