New York (NY) - Joost, an Internet TV network currently developed by the founders of Skype, will be showing episodes from CBS programs, including CSI, Survivor and CBS Evening News.
CBS is the first broadcast network to join Joost, which so far has assembled 85 different content suppliers, including Comedy Central, MTV, National Geographic, VH1 and other popular video content, including the car enthusiast magazine Fifth Gear and the World Poker Tour.
CBS said that its content will be available when Joost officially launches during spring of this year; the network will provide new and previously-aired, full episodes from popular shows, including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI NY and CSI: Miami, Numbers, Jericho, Fat Actress, Survivor as well as Showtime Championship Boxing, CSTV, and Katie Couric’s CBS Evening News program.
According to Joost, the CBS channels and content will be accessible within the US, while
select clips and full-length sports programming will be available worldwide.
Joost is developed by Skype founders Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis and promises a “secure, efficient, piracy-proof Internet platform that enables premium interactive video experiences.”
