Comcast buys Fandango, forms on-demand movie site
Culver City (CA) - Cable-television giant Comcast has purchased online movie ticket seller Fandango. The two companies will create a Fancast.com this summer which will feature on-demand movies and shows for Internet, mobile devices and television.
No financial terms were disclosed, but Fandango says it will still sell movie tickets online and will keep its current CEO Chuck Davis. Fandango currently sells tickets to thousands of movie theatres and its website has millions of monthly visitors.
