Culver City (CA) - Nintendo says that it is trying very hard to meet the unexpected demand for its latest game console. According to an interview done by GamesIndustry.biz's Matt Martin, Nintendo executive Laurent Fischer is astonished at the Wii's demand.
Fischer also said, "We are still struggling to deliver the right numbers of hardware." World-wide Wii sales should hit six million consoles by the end of March, but Fischer adds that some people have been waiting months to buy one.
Of course, most business experts would view this as a nice problem to have and the price of success. Regardless, Fischer told Martin that Nintendo is planning to increase production capacity.
