Fable 2 will feature love, children and a dog
Culver City (CA) - Veteran video game developer Sir Peter Molyneux has said that he wants to introduce the concept of fondness and love into Fable 2 by allowing players to raise a family and by giving them a dog as a constant companion.
"This is my bold claim - I need you to experience something in Fable that you as gamers have never experienced before," he told an audience. Molyneux says that he wants to deliver more than just the standard sequel with Fable 2 by introducing truly original gameplay features to tug at the heart strings. This is the sort of claim Molyneux has made in the past, and he has been successful to one degree or another with games like Black & White and Populous.
Players will be able to raise a family who will be affected by their actions. For example one will be able to have a child who will follow his or her parents lead, depending on whether or not you are a "good" or a "bad" character in the free-form game.
The game will also feature a dog as a constant companion in the game. The purpose of the dog will be both as an emotional attachment in the game as well as a functional tool for gamers; attacking enemies and pointing players in the right direction.
Fable 2 is currently slated for release sometime in 2008.
