Activision buys DemonWare
Santa Monica (CA) - Activision has announced that it will be buying DemonWare, a Dublin-based gaming middleware developer. DemonWare's software is used to match players in online games and to secure online communications. Activision has been using DemonWare software in its games for more than a year, perhaps the most notable game has been Call of Duty 3.
DemonWare will become a subsidiary of Activision and all the management along with top employees will transfer over with long-term contracts. The two companies did no specify any financial terms of the buyout.
