Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto to keynote Game Developers Conference
San Francisco (CA) - Game designer and Nintendo's Senior Marketing Director Shigeru Miyamoto will keynote this year's Game Developers Conference. The yearly conference gathers some of the world's best game companies and coders, along with hopeful job seekers. In the past, Nintendo has used GDC keynotes to generate buzz and demo some cool products.
Miyamoto's keynote is titled "A Creative Vision" and the GDC website says, "Shigeru Miyamoto will reveal how a singular creative vision drives his work, not only in terms of his world-renown software, but also in generating key technologies, including the current global phenomena, Nintendo DS and Wii. And he will challenge the audience to apply his approach in their own distinctive styles."
Last year, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata wowed the audience by showing off the company's Brain Age game. The game strengthens mental abilities by giving challenging puzzles like speedy multiplication, color associations and Sudoku. Iwata also became an instant hero by giving away a free copy of the game to every audience member.
This year's GDC will be held in San Francisco California from March 6 to March 9. Miyamoto will speak Thursday morning March 8th 20007. GDC officials are still finalizing speakers for other keynotes.
