EA swings out Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07
Electronic Arts today announced that the Xbox 360 version of its latest entry to the EA Sports line of games, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, has started shipping to retailers.
The game, which was released on several other platforms last week, features 12 18-hole golf courses, including Firestone Country Club, The Prince Course at Hanalei, Spyglass Hill, St Andrews Links, and Glen Abbey Golf Club. Players included in the game are Tiger Woods, Chris DiMarco, Mike Weir, Like Donald, and Colin Montgomerie.
The Tiger Woods PGA Tour series, which has now been around for more than seven years, is known for its relationship and strong involvement with Tiger Woods and other golfers. Woods, for example, told EA that his swing had changed since last year and the game was changed accordingly.
For years, the developers have used motion capturing technology with the actual golfers to get a depiction of their movement and other mannerisms. PGA Tour 07 also used Universal Facial Capture (UCAP) technology to capture facial expressions and reactions from all the golfers in the game, according to EA.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 is rated E and has a suggested retail price of $60 for the Xbox 360 version. The previously available versions for Xbox, PS2, PSP, and the PC each have a price of $40. The game is also planned as a launch title for the PS3, which will be released on 17 November, as well as a next-year release for the Wii.
