Batman has gone through so many incarnations, and there’s a lot of different shades of light and dark you can project onto the character. The Christian Bale edition of Batman came to an end nearly two years ago now, and now the Batman video game will be winding up as well.
As Variety tells us, the last game that will come out through Rocksteady Games will be Batman: Arkham Knight, and WB Games says the game will come later this year. According to this report, Batman will go up against Two-Face, the Scarecrow, Penguin and Harley Quinn. It also the exciting element of being able to drive the Batmobile in the game, which you couldn’t do before.
As one exec involved in the game said, “We’re excited to be developing the game for next gen platforms, which has allowed us to bring the design elements that we envisioned from the beginning such as the Batmobile and how it augments Batman’s abilities, to the fully detailed and realized Gotham City.”
As another gaming exec told Forbes.com, “We kind of feel like this is the natural end for this story. We really want to go out in style.”
