Will Smith Isn’t Coming Back For ID4 2, But Jeff Goldblum’s Eager

Okay, so Will Smith won’t be coming back for the next two ID4 movies, but we kind of expected that, even though his career could use a boost these days. Reports had it he’d be way too expensive to bring back to ID4, but that doesn’t mean the whole cast won’t come back.

In fact, Bill Pullman is keen on returning, and Jeff Goldblum is definitely interested too. The actor told The Huffington Post that Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin have talked to him about it, “I’ve talked to them about it, and they’re excited and I’m anxious and eager to see – I haven’t read anything – what they cook up.”

A lot of fans have also been wondering if Goldblum would be back for Jurassic World. In all likelihood, he probably won’t, but it would definitely be great to have him back for ID4. While we feel Will Smith’s absence will definitely leave a big void, ID4 was a great ensemble piece with a lot of terrific actors that contributed as well. Goldblum was definitely chief among them, as were Pullman and Randy Quaid.

ID4 2 is currently slated for a July 1, 2016 release, the 20th anniversary of the first film’s release.
