Right now, there’s a number of major genre properties that are finalizing their casting. Star Wars, of course, is the big daddy, but there’s no official word on that one just yet. There is, however, finally official news on Terminator: Genesis, The Fantastic Four, and the TV show Gotham.
As you know by now from reading TGD, there’s a Terminator prequel coming to theaters on July 1, 2015, Terminator: Genesis, and casting is now coming together. The latest casting race was for the role of Kyle Reese. And the winner is…
Jai Courtney. The race for the role was between Courtney, who will be in Divergent, and Boyd Holbrook, who starred in Behind the Candelabra and Out of the Furnace. According to Moviefone, Terminator: Genesis will be shooting in New Orleans from April 21 to August 1.
Now for Gotham, the Batman prequel series. It’s just been reported that Jada Pinkett Smith will be joining the show as Fish Mooney, an original villain that’s been created for the show. So far Gotham is starring Ben McKenzie (The O.C.) as James Gordon, Robin Lord Taylor (Accepted) as the Penguin, and Donal Logue as Gordon’s mentor, Detective Harvey Bullock.
