Black Widow Could Get Her Own Standalone Movie, and Other Marvel Rumors

Posted by David Konow

There are many characters and stories to be told out of the Marvel universe, and the ones that revolve around the Avengers universe have been doing very well these days. The next Avengers movie, Age of Ultron, just started shooting in South Africa, and now reports have surfaced that Black Widow may have her own movie as well.

The character of Black Widow is of course played by Scarlett Johansson, who is also earning raves for her voice only performance in Her. Sure she’s sexy, and looks great in a tight rubber superhero suit, but can she carry her own movie?

Black Widow will be appearing in the next Captain America film, The Winter Soldier, along with the Falcon, on April 4. Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, confirmed to Cinema Blend and Total Film that she will also have a “very big role” in Age of Ultron. Feige added that there have indeed been talks about Black Widow having her own movie, where you would learn more about her past, where she came from, etc.

“The notion of exploring that even further in her own film would be great, and we have some development work on that,” he said.

It won’t be long before phase three of the Marvel movies will begin, and rumor has it a long awaited Doctor Strange film could be part of the next wave. According to a rumor that hit the net, Marvel’s phase three could include a Doc Strange movie, the upcoming Ant-Man movie, Captain America 3, Thor 3, and, you guessed it, Avengers 3.
