Gotham is an upcoming TV show on Fox that will be the prequel to Batman. This show will go way, way back, long before Bruce Wayne wore the bat-suit, and it focuses on the rise of Commissioner Gordon as the city, and the villains who corrupted it, began developing.
The show begins when Gordon is a rookie on the Gotham police force, and interesting enough, McKenzie was the voice in the animated Batman flick, Year One. Current reports also tell us that Donal Logue from Sons of Anarchy was offered the role of Detective Harvey Bullock, Gordon’s mentor, for the show, but no news as to whether he’ll take the role or not.
As Fox President Kevin Reilly told the Reporter, this show has “Gotham teetering on the edge,” and this show should also include all the Gotham villains including the Joker, the Riddler, Penquin, and Catwoman.
There’s currently no premiere date for Gotham, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s on the air by fall or around this time next year.
