Okay, so you know by now we’re getting another Terminator movie in the summer of 2015, and casting is rcoming together right now. Now reports have come in that The Terminator will be back on television as well.Several years ago when The Dark Tower was in development at Universal, the plan was to make three movies, with a TV series that would fill in the time between films. Now it looks like The Terminator may follow a similar strategy, which we’ve seen more recently with SHIELD.
Giant Freakin Robot and Deadline report that Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures, the companies producing Terminator 5, are also working on the TV show that will apparently work its way in and out of the upcoming movie.
The Terminator has of course been on series television before with The Sarah Connor Chronicles, which only lasted two season on Fox, but was widely acclaimed by fans. Plot details are understandably under wraps right now, but it’s believed that the series will tie into the first Terminator film, much like the next Terminator movie will also link back to the 1984 sci-fi classic.
Writing the series are the screenwriting team of Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller, who also penned X-Men: First Class and Thor. Both Stentz and Miller wrote for Fringe. (They also recently wrote scripts for a new Starship Troopers movie, and the big screen reboot of The Fall Guy.)
